How Are Coffee Beans Roasted?

Coffee lovers know that making a good cup of coffee is an art. However, have you ever wondered what goes into preparing the coffee beans before they go into your coffee maker?

Watch this video to learn about the process of roasting coffee beans. Simply, fresh coffee beans are green, and nowhere near ready to be ground into what we think of as coffee. In order to prepare the beans, they must be heated—often to nearly 400 degrees. This process pulls out all of the flavors and scents associated with coffee and turns the beans a dark brown color.
